Experiencing Bangkok in many colours

The start of the journey was not bad at all. Six days in Bangkok were hot, relaxed and very colourful.

As we have landed already in the morning, we had the whole day ahead of us. That gave us time to have a rest first and then start to explore the crazy capital of Thailand. It really is crazy, chaotic and loud but exactly those things make the city unique. A walk through Chinatown gave us the first picture of so known street food. It is amazing how many stands you can find all over Bangkok with freshly made Pad Thais, Tom yum soups (my favourite thai dish so far) and many others for 70 baht (around 2€). At the first sight everything looks delicious and worth trying but let me be honest and say that we also tried some pork sticks which were not that tasty. :) Anyway, I would definitely recommend eating on the streets as the food is really cheap and always freshly made in front of you.

There is plenty of choice of public transport. We mostly traveled around with local buses, water taxis and trains. It was interesting to see how the locals are moving around the city. The most unusual way of public transport was a water taxi which was loud, crowded, dirty but very cheap and fast. Definitely worth to experience.

I need to say that I was really impressed by Thai people. They are hardworking, totally organized and provide excellent service. You will always be served with a smile and will never wait too long for the food. I think Europeans could learn a lot from them.

Bangkok highlights:

1. Spending our first night at Khao San Road, the center of the party and full of backpackers. We wanted to have one beer and then go to sleep but the night ended like this...

2. Reunion with Tilen, my really good friend from Uni. We were discovering the treasures of Sukhumvit road, having beers and laughed a lot. :)

3. Lumphini park - by the coincidence saw probably more than 200 Thais doing outdoor aerobics.

4. Last night in a luxury hotel (it was a birthday present from Mario’s parents). We have spent two days at the pool, chilling and enjoying amazing view over Bangkok.
